83 Days In Advance! The Rotor Of #2b Unit In Baihetan Hydropower Station Successfully Hoisted

       On October 26, the rotor of #2 Unit on the left bank of Baihetan Hydropower Station, installed by the Fourth Bureau of PowerChina, was successfully hoisted 83 days ahead of the contract period, marking that #2 Unit had been in the final assembly stage, and the construction has firmly moved towards the goal of generating power with the first batch of units next year.

       As the core component with the largest weight during unit installation, the rotor has a diameter of 16.2 meters, a net weight of 1,955 tons, a lifting weight of 2,100 tons, and a maximum height of 4.1 meters. The laminated sheet, about 60 kilograms, is stacked by about 16,000 high-strength punched sheets, 4 mm thick each, in 900 layers.

       According to information, this is the second single-unit million-kilowatt unit rotor installed by the Fourth Hydropower Bureau, the third rotor completed for the Baihetan Hydropower Station. In order to guarantee the installation quality of #2 Unit, the technicians and installers learnt from the installation experience of #1 Unit, strictly followed the quality standards in many working procedures, from rotor arm assembly welding, yoke stacking, magnetic pole mounting, to overall withstand voltage test. During rotor installation, all working procedures had qualified acceptance check. The rotor reaches the standard of excellence with cylindricity of 0.51 mm and concentricity of 0.07 mm.
